About us
A Harrow firm with one method and no theatre about it.
The method
Survey the house. Measure what is in it, including the loft, the garage and the shed. Look at the access at both ends. Then price it, in writing, and stand by the number.
That is the entire approach, and it is not clever. What is unusual is doing the first half at all — a great many quotes in this trade are a bedroom count and a hopeful guess, and every bad moving day starts there.
Why there are two Harrow firms here
Because there are two Harrow domains on this network: this one and harrow-removals.co.uk. Same town, different crews, a quieter presentation of the same trade, and a different four areas written up in detail.
We would rather put that on the About page than have you work it out from a coincidence. If you have already had a survey from them, take their quote — a second opinion from a sister firm is not a second opinion.
What we will tell you
That a bedroom count is not a volume, and that in Metroland the loft, the garage and the shed are frequently a room between them.
That some Hill lanes will not take a full-size vehicle, and that two runs with a smaller one is the honest answer rather than an upsell.
That your job is really a man and van, when it is, even though the removal would have been the larger invoice.
That Northwood and Edgware have their own coverage here, and a genuinely London-wide move belongs with our pan-London sister sites rather than with us stretching.
The European side
Four destinations rather than a brochure list. France, Spain, Italy and Portugal — enough volume on each that the process is familiar rather than looked up while the vehicle is loaded.
The customs file is prepared from the survey inventory. Where a document has to come from you — an NIE, a codice fiscale, a certificado de bagagem — we say so at the start, because those are precisely the parts nobody can accelerate.
Insurance and conditions
Goods in transit and storage cover are in place, with the usual conditions around owner-packed cartons and items of unusual value. Declare anything genuinely valuable at survey and we confirm in writing what applies before you book.
The full terms are on the terms page rather than in a footnote on the quote.
What we do not do
We do not quote before we understand the job. We do not promise a transit time we cannot stand behind. We do not take on a property without establishing that we can physically reach it. And we do not claim awards, accreditations, press coverage or customer numbers we have not got — if it is not on this site, it is because it is not true yet.
Cover
Goods in transit and storage cover are in place, with the usual conditions around owner-packed cartons and items of unusual value. Declare anything genuinely valuable at survey and we will confirm in writing what applies. The contractual position is on the terms page.
Getting hold of us
The quote form is quickest. Contact has the rest, questions covers what comes up first, and areas we cover shows exactly where our ground runs out.
Tell us about the move
Both addresses, what is coming, and your date. We survey, check the access and send a written quote.
