Man and van in Harrow

The small end — a room, a studio, a first home, a storage unit, or one heavy item. Two people and a van, booked by the job.

A good share of moving jobs do not need a Luton and four people. A room across HA2, a studio emptied, a first flat furnished, a storage unit cleared, one heavy thing that will not go in a car.

What it suits

  • Single rooms, studios and lightly filled one-beds
  • First-home moves
  • Shared-house moves to a fixed handover time
  • Marketplace, shop and auction collections
  • One awkward item: a sofa, a fridge-freezer, an upright piano, a desk

The honest bit

The commonest way a small move goes wrong is that it was never a small move. Tell us what is actually coming, wardrobe included, and we will tell you which of the two is cheaper. It is often the removal, and saying so costs us the smaller booking and saves you the longer day.

Access still sets the crew

Floor, stair, lift, and — on the Hill — whether the lane takes a vehicle at all. Four quick answers, and they decide how many people turn up.

Where it stops being right

Around a well-filled one-bed — see flat removals.

Worth asking

Small-move questions

01One person or two?

Two on anything with furniture in it. One and a van is fine for cartons and nothing else.

02Is it right for a first home?

Very often. A bedroom's worth of things plus whatever was bought for the new place is a van job, and paying for a full removal would be paying for air.

03Do you carry or just drive?

Carry. If you want a vehicle and a driver while you do the lifting, say so and we price it that way.

04Can you collect from a seller or a shop?

Yes. Tell us what it is, roughly what it weighs, and when it has to be gone by.

05When is it the wrong choice?

Around a well-filled one-bed. Past that it becomes two trips and a long day, which costs more than the removal would have.

Next step

Got a small move on?

Two addresses, the floor at each end, and what is actually coming. We will tell you which option is cheaper.
