House removals in Harrow

Whole households across HA1 to HA3 — Metroland semis, Victorian terraces, and the larger detached stock towards Harrow Weald and Belmont.

Most Harrow house moves are straightforward, and the reason is boring: the suburb was built with driveways and wide roads. What goes wrong is almost never the access. It is the estimate.

The estimate is the job

A vehicle sized on a guess is the origin of nearly every bad moving day in this trade — two trips, a crew that finishes in the dark, a bill that grew. So we measure room by room, count the loft, the garage and the shed, and size the vehicle to what is actually there.

It takes twenty minutes. It is the difference between a quote and a hope.

What is included

  • A free survey, with no obligation either way
  • Floor, frame and banister protection along the whole carry
  • Wrapping for upholstery, mattresses and polished surfaces
  • Dismantle and rebuild of what will not pass a door
  • The permit where the street is controlled
  • Room-labelled unloading, and materials taken away when we leave

Metroland semis

The commonest job on the patch. Driveway standing, wide roads, generous rooms, proper stairs — and frequently thirty years of accumulation in a loft conversion nobody has fully emptied since it was built. We count it.

Terraces and the older stock

Around the centre and the Hill, the houses are older and narrower and the approach matters more. Original floors and staircases get protection before anything moves, and where a lane will not take a full-size vehicle, we say so and price two runs with a smaller one.

Larger houses

Towards Harrow Weald and Belmont the loads get bigger, and so does the share of furniture that should travel in a case rather than under a blanket. Identified at survey, declared where the value warrants it, crated where it needs it.

Getting a quote

Both addresses, floors at each end, and what is coming. Flats are on flat removals, smaller loads on man and van, and storage bridges a gap in a chain.

Before you book

House move questions

01What decides the price?

Measured volume, access at both ends, packing, distance. That is the entire list.

02Why not price from a bedroom count?

Because a three-bed semi with a converted loft, a full garage and a shed is a different load from a three-bed semi without them, and both are described the same way over the phone.

03Do you take furniture apart?

Beds, wardrobes and tables that will not pass a door. It goes back together in the right room at the far end.

04Is protection included?

Floors, frames and banisters, along the whole carry, fitted before anything moves. Not an extra.

05Can it be done in a day?

Locally, almost always. If your particular house and street mean otherwise we say so at survey rather than at six in the evening.
